Thermal spray encompasses a group of processes (energy sources) that are capable of quickly depositing a variety of materials onto a substrate. These materials impart properties unobtainable by base metal selection alone.
A
variety of energy sources are used to heat the spray material to a
semi-molten/molten state. The heated material is rapidly accelerated to
the substrate where it impacts and forms a coating.
